About Ms. Jones
Amanda Jones, DirectorGrowing up as a student in the Cobb County School System, Ms. Amanda Jones participated in various music programs at all levels of her education. She enjoyed Honor’s Chorus, All-state, Orchestra, Concert Band, Percussion Ensemble and Marching Band where she was the section leader of the Front Ensemble (Pit) at Kell H.S. Ms. Jones was a Music Education major, with a vocal focus, at Toccoa Falls College. Throughout her college experience, she participated in multiple choirs, vocal and piano ensembles, sang with a touring band and served as the Percussion section leader in the College Band. While earning her Graduate degree in Vocal Performance, at the Longy School of Music of Bard College, in Cambridge, MA, she supported herself through teaching privately, and various musical endeavors.
Ms. Jones loves music, traveling, road trips, family time, hiking, kayaking, puzzles and spending WAY too much time on Facebook. Courtesy of her mother’s allergies, the closest thing she ever had to a pet, was a pet rock. After having taught for 2 years in Cobb County, Ms. Jones is excited to to be able to embark on this new adventure as a part of the Oak Hill family where she hopes to instill a love of music in the hearts and minds of her students.
