Due to some technical difficulties, we've been off-line for quite some time, but now we're back!
The semester is halfway through, but we still have a lot of great things happening in Chorus!
A few reminders:
- Make sure to let Ms. Jones know about your Exploratory choices for next semester by Friday, November 3rd.
- Grades are up to date. If your grade is on the lower side, make sure that you are doing and turning in ALL assignments. I will still take them, so turn in whatever you have!
Festive Five @ Milledgeville Mall - November 14th, 7 pm - Details to come (Extra Credit Performance)
Music Mall Marathon - December 9th, 4 pm - Details to come (Extra Credit Performance)

Let's keep up the good work, and have a great rest of the semester!!!
I hope everyone had a relaxing holiday and winter break! Looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow as we begin another exciting semester of Chorus!
First, I want to start off by saying congratulations to the recipients of a spot on the Chorus "Wall of Fame" for the month of September. It was not an easy decision to make as we have some really great students who truly go above and beyond.
6th - Averie Miller and Toshea Ross
7th - Lecovian Thomas
8th - Ashton Stuart
Now, the info that you have all been waiting for... Students were given information about their grades today. Many students are missing assignments; I am still accepting whatever is missing, for partial credit, (but anything's better than a zero!) There is also an extra credit assignment that can be completed over Fall Break and needs to be turned in when the students come back on Tuesday, October 11th.
See assignment below:
Chorus Extra Credit
Task: Write a paper (handwritten, 2 pages front and back) about your favorite singer/group. Your paper should address, but is not limited to, ALL of the questions below. Due Tuesday, October 11th.
As always, it's a pleasure working with your students. I hope that everyone has a safe and enjoyable Fall Break!
Wow! Hard to believe we are already almost 2 months into the school year! Here is what's happening around OHMS Chorus.
The Fall Chorus Concert will be on Tuesday, November 10th in the OHMS theater.
6th Grade Parents, have you ever wondered what goes on during a typical Chorus class? Well, now is your chance to find out! Join us tomorrow night (9/27) at 5:30 for the Exploratory Academic Night.

Keep checking back for more updates and information about exciting new Chorus opportunities!!!
7th and 8th graders received this year's Choral Handbook in class today. Please read over it, and return the signed Handbook Contract (last page) by Friday, August 12th. If you have any questions or concerns, my door is always open, and my inbox is far from being full. If for some reason, you did not receive a Handbook, you can find a copy on the "Documents" page of the blog. Also, please don't forget to sign up for our Chorus Remind messages either!
Thank you for a successful first full day of Chorus! I look forward to getting to know each of you better throughout the course of the year!
Welcome to the new Oak Hill Middle School Chorus website! I am looking forward to a great year of getting to know each and every one of you as we all sing our hearts out! Check back on our website periodically to find important announcements, music resources, and other types of important information. I can't wait to meet you all and embark on this new adventure with you! -Ms. Jones
